PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH MARÍA ABAD
Following research on new trends and new lifestyles, we proposed a minimal dwelling unit in which the kitchen space disappears. By eliminating this space, the remainder could be used to form common spaces in which people could gather and experience food in a celebratory way. Our primary goal was to exploit the sense of community while transforming people's way of life, through our reinterpretation of traditional Spanish Corralas.
The minimum unit we proposed was 2.85 mx 8 m. This unit would have a series of built-in furniture that would help transform the house into different spaces. As mentioned above, we eliminated the space directed to the kitchen, but then we used it to create common spaces.

Within our approach we wanted the exterior and interior façade to differ. We wanted to create a union between the materiality of the Corrala and the traditional materiality of English houses. This is due to the fact that historically the Corralas did not have more than one single façade, this typology was created to solve the entrance of light to the building that had difficulty for this. That said, using the brick facade helps us enhance the strength of our building while maintaining a light interior.
